Looking to buy a new mobile phone but there are so many I just don't know where to start. I want a simple one - phone, text, take photos and access email and FB. I have a Virgin sim card Any advice appreciated.

It was selling in Argos, etc for around £130 when it first came out but I got it for £90 a bit later on. I see that it's currently available on Amazon for just £76.90, so I'd consider that to be a bargain:

The phone I've linked to is SIM-free, Jennyjoan.
That means that you can put any SIM into it and it will be the SIM that determines how the phone's use is paid for. i.e. if Maggie has got a SIM linked to a Virgin contract it will become a Virgin 'contract' phone. However if she's got a Virgin Pay-As-You-Go SIM it will become a Virgin 'PAYG' phone.
If, as I did, she were to put an Asda PAYG SIM into it, it would become an Asda 'PAYG' phone.
Anyone who buys a SIM-free phone can choose BOTH the service provider they want go with AND (where that provider offers both types of account) whether to opt for a contract or to use PAYG.

I've got a Moto G6 play which is excellent and available for about £130.

Many publications say the Moto G6 is one of the best budget phones. The play version economises on things like having a plastic cover and a slightly fatter battery than the premium one, but as a result has a very long battery life.
It has a large screen which I like, but if you have small hands that might be a nuisance to you.
