When I search on Google, I get redirected to Search encrypt.com. Any ideas how I can stop this happening? I think its related to me installing a windows update. Running windows 7 at the moment.

If you've not already got the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) on your computer I'd suggest trying AdwCleaner instead. That's because MBAM now forces users to take a free trial of their paid-for program, which can slow some computers down. (AdwCleaner is also from Malwarebytes and just as good at zapping malware):

If you're looking for a free anti-virus program then recent threads have shown Avast to currently be the most popular choice among AB members. (It's also what I use):

You should need to do this thing to make your browser resolve this problem. Finally, let's repair each browser's proxy settings so that the Google redirect virus definitely can't hijack your browser. To do so with IE, launch Internet Explorer, and go to Tools, Internet Options. Click the Connections tab, select Local Area Network (LAN) Settings and unselect everything, press Ok.
