Possible Bios Issue

I use a bootable portable hard drive (containing all my data) with my different computers in different places. Lately, one of the computers sets itself apart by (it would appear) causing the browser to crash soon after beginning to use it - this does not happen at all on another computer used for a comparison test. I therefore conclude the drive and everything on it is fine.

Is it possible that this is a bios issue (due for an update) or if not what else could it be ? Oddly, one or two other applications appear to run normally on this computer. The most certain way to experience a browser crash is to go onto eBay, of all things.

Any advice would be welcome but I am particularly curious about the bios aspect as a curiosity question because on another computer altogether I lost the WiFi function and gave the machine away in that condition - the new owner updated the bios and all became well.

Oh yes, everything several times :) (over a period of a week or so)
transfer everything off it to another drive or same computer you mention into a draw etc, then form ate that problem drive in the same computer, transfer back your files, and see if problem persists.

Fender, I don't think that is likely to change anything: I work exclusively off the bootable drive, every time, and while I have the problem on one computer, I don't on another. Being that it is always the same software, I reckon the problem sits with the different hardware (and possibly its bios), that being the only difference between "success" and "failure".
