It won't record any more, it just flashes up a message saying 'error occurred'. I've only been using it for a few months, but bought it a couple of years ago and kept it in the box. I tried re-booting which worked once and then decided to re-tune to see if that works and it did, twice, but nothing since. I just can't get anything at all to record. Any tips anyone ? I have to go out now, but will check back later, so thank you in advance.
Hmm. If, if it stops recording again, I would be checking the antenna rig and cables for loose connections, water ingress, or other damage that is causing intermittent reception.
Kept it in the box 2 years. Gawd, you're as bad as I am, almost.
Could need any maintenance after that time. Probably needs a techie to check it over. Maybe loose connection, or dry joint. Drive could be failing. Anything really. You checked/wriggled the leads/plugs I trust.
OG, it was in perfect condition when I started using it as in effect it's brand new, never having been taken out of the box. When out dog walking today someone has told me to unplug all the leads (I've already wiggled them) and leave them out for a while to see if that will work when I plug them back in.
Have you checked your signal strength. If it is low it may show programmes but not record. You can check the signal strength for both tuners( separate tuner for recording). If all looks good it could be a hard drive issue. This can be sorted out but you will need some technical ability. You can remove the hard drive and put it in a pc to run diagnostics checks or even replace the hard drive.
I've done a first time installation and so far it seems to have worked, but who knows when I switch it on again tomorrow, it may have stopped recording again ! Does anybody know why doing a first time installation woukd have worked ?

Thanks Togo. Just checked it, still recording so far. The aeriel lead looks slightly corroded, so I guess it could be water damage, which may mean getting an aeriel guy in ! I'll see how it goes.
