I received an email from an hacker, claiming to use drive by exploit to gain access to my computer. More worryingly he knew my password which I had changed way back in June.
I have reported this as they were demanding money in bitcoins or else pictures will be released of me pleasuring myself!!!!!
I've been busy changing passwords but find it hard to remember them all.
Do you have a safe tip for remembering passwords????
One memorable short word then the site then a 4 number string of chose a word that shows what the site does replacing a with @ o with 0 and I with 1 and a with 5
They claim they controlled the computer while you were viewing online porn. I was clearing Dave's search history... Some sites just catch your eye... Old git used my lot in That's my story.
Actually, I don't . I have a shorter one for this site, and a different one for my email. I suppose they do have a certain theme to them. A tenuous one, but still a theme.
I did have a webcam, a long time ago. Not used one for years. Just tell them to get lost. What if it's true and they do have pictures? So what? But that's just my viewpoint.
Firstly dont allow your machine to save passwords. Keep a list that only you, partners included, have access to. Would you care to name and shame your antivirus for not doing its job, assuming you keep it up to date.
I am using Avast.
I have changed all passwords and apart from the email from hacker nothing is untoward at the moment. I now need a nap as I barely slept last night worrying.
i put a bit of tape over my laptop webcam, as for passwords..
i use firefox and sync mine with it to remember them, you have to sign in to firefox first, iv change my passwords once a year, and then sync them to firefox, and if i change laptops for new one, i install firefox
put in my email and password and all my passwords and favourites are back in bookmarks.
