*relative* to others
Just reading through AGCHRISTIES post and its obvious that a young girl is struggling with her mental health.
We ALL struggle, thats a given, But some more than others muddle through best we can.
Ive come close to loosing my life on more than one occasion, but Ive somehow got through it. Always with the help of others and those others have usually been strangers on the internet....On sites such as this.
Before you type derogatory comments to someone who may be suicidal or mentally imbalanced (and whom you don't know) just be aware that your words have a power to destroy that person...
Totally agree, nailit... however.... I can also confirm that people who genuinely mean to help can do as much damage, easily.
Sometimes, it really does need to be professionals who understand and know what they are doing.
Exactly what I am on about when I told her to listen to the likes of yourself and others who have been through it,and not The goody goody with there words of wisdom well meaning ,but have not been through it.
Exactly, ummm... it's the equivalent of physical illness. Everybody has something at some point, but it is a question of degree. There is a difference beteen a cold and a terminal illness, just as there are different degrees of mental health problems.
I've read all of Jordy's thread and can't see any derogatory comments whatsoever. Bit of 'tough love' perhaps and some home truths but nothing nasty. Why are you trying to stir things on the back of someone's deep mental troubles? No one 'sails through life', everyone has their challenges, some learn by them, learn to cope, and perhaps try to help others but at the end of the day we all do what we want to do. I agree with Pixie.
I agree, some people have a life packed full of trauma, sadness and more almost endlessly - getting help can be a struggle when they are at their lowest and weakest ebb.
For most of us life is full of ups and downs of varying degrees - I've had the Black Dog visit on many occasions, sometimes for months at a time, but somehow have clawed my way back to the light.
I don't wish any form of mental illness on anyone.
good grief don't blame me! I have no idea why my comment was removed, all I did was advise you to have some respect for your mother. I did not call you a disgrace, no one has the right to say that to anyone!
So name and shame them, who said you were a disgrace and what prompted it? I haven't read the 'Howl' threads but guess they were a bit 'racy' So what? Its about time this place was ju ju-ed up a bit, all adults and that. If it takes your mind of your present situation then its all good.
