We're new to Alexa and are wondering how to make the most of having her around! We've very quickly exhausted the daft questions and listened to the radio, whats the next level?

. . . and don't forget the really important things that Alexa can do ;-)

Thanks Chris, I'll have a good read. Do you have one? Do you pay an additional subscription for advanced features or just as it is.

I'd be grateful to hear from others too and to know what different people actually use their devices for.

Fabulous video! We'll definitely try that one!
No, apart from amazon music, audiobooks and the stuff thats on prime its all free. I use it for timers and reminders and I have got webcams connected to it, (mind are shows with screens) also I listen to music a lot.
Ask her her surname and ask if she has any siblings.

Alexa finds it hard to understand me. I asked her a question, I can't remember what, and she answered that she hasn't got eyes in the back of her head!!

She really brings out my childish side :-)
NO.
More seriously...It's really good for TV. I start watching something and always forget what channel it's on, so I just ask Alexa.
Ask her to tell you a joke
No. I wouldn't have one as a gift. I'd hate it.
I just told her she was fired and she replied 'I must update my resume'
My youngest Grandson drove theirs to a breakdown ;-)
Why Naomi? You don't have to use it. It comes installed in some products.
The only subscription I pay on mine is £3.99 (I think) for unlimited music. I haven't yet found anything Alexa doesn't know... and also differentiates between different people in the house asking, now we have been "introduced" - and no longer thinks I like R&B just because my daughter has used it :-)
Also, recipes, meal ideas and sometimes reading my kindle book out while I am cooking.
We play trivial pursuits through Alexa whilst we are having dinner.

It's good fun. I hate losing though.

LOL! She doesnt understand me very well either ummmm so I find myself shouting, like a Brit on holiday!

I have Echo 8 which is the one with a screen, maybe in time we will sign up to prime and access more content.
Maydup, have a look on the app for "skills" and see if any interest you. They are all free.
