I don’t know, but my recently my internet slowed so much that things stopped working. It turned out we’d used up our download limit for the month because my son and his wife were here over Christmas and they used up loads of ‘the allowance’.
Did you have family over at Christmas that might have done similar?

I assume your network is running- ie you can visit web pages with your browser. If it is, here is a webpage than has several things you can try- I would suggest the easier things first, try uninstall and reinstall Windows live mail for start off.

Can you login to your gmail account via the gmail website?
Why are you using POP3? Why nit use IMAP - then your email will be available on any device, and you'll see emails sent/received on 1 device another device, rather than just seeing what each device has sent/received on the relevant device.
