Adobe Acrobat reader parsing error

I've been trying to open a PDF document on a computer at work. It opens fine on my home computer, but on the one at work I get the message "parsing error" and it fails to open. Why is this and what can I do about it?

Do you have the same version of acrobat reader on both PCs? Some firms don't update their software very often so chances are the copy you're using at work might not be the latest version.
