Prudie...just try unplugging the HDMI CABLE, then turn off the laptop. Wait for 30 seconds then plug the HDMI cable back in and then turn on the laptop. When you turn on the TV, it should be recognized by your laptop as an external display device. Let us know if that works before doing anything else.
If nothing has worked so far read through this Prudie.......particularly if you are running W10. You may need to go back into settings and look for the "detect" option in the display menu.

I will try the switch off when I can. I did use the detect and it saw the TV but didn't do anything with it.
Never done it Prudie, but would imagine that you need to set resolution, and any other option choices, then confirm or save, then maybe even re-boot immediately after doing so. Remember what does work mind, you will be wanting to go back home.
Does it work on HDMI1 ?
Maybe you need to do something on the laptop before it sends video on it's HDMI port ?
Hi, You may need to tell your laptop to output the signal to your TV. Right click a blank area of the laptop screen, and then click screen resolution, and look for an option to output to an extended screen, or click the option for your video card (Nvidea or something like that) and again look for an option to output to a second screen.
Hope this helps.
