I am putting together a PowerPoint presentation using extracts from YouTube video clips.

I want the clip to play with sound for fifteen seconds, and then fade to silence in the following five seconds.

Can anyone explain how to do this, or point me at an online tutorial where I can have it explained?

Many thanks.

I'm not convinced Powerpoint would be able to do that. You'd probably need to use separate video editing software to achieve the effect you want.
As Jim indicates, you need to use a video editor to create the 'fading sound' video you want first and then import the new video you've created into Youtube.

Try one of these:

Once you have the video sorted out, this explains how to embed it.

^^^ (Rather obvious) typo:
"Youtube", in my post above, should read "PowerPoint"

Thanks as always for your help guys, I'll have a go!
I even didn't try with the video clips yet. Though I am not much expert with powerpoint presentation at all. But this simple guide create the powerpoint presentation pitching as an art https://masterbundles.com/how-to-create-the-powerpoint-presentation-pitching-as-an-art/ has helped me a lot.

If you want you can try this easy way. All the best!
