How Do I Use My Printer Upstairs Via Wireless Laptop?
4 Answers
I have a Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL Modem Firewall Router with 4-port 10/100 switch
upstairs and my PC is connected to it via the Ethernet port. I also have a Laptop that I use around the house/garden via wireless. I have a Printer connected via USB to my PC upstairs. How can I print from my Laptop using this Printer?
Many thanks in advance.

If its Win XP, at the desktop machine right-click the printer and choose share this printer.
If you have XP on the other machine it should automatically connect it (as an autoshare) the next time you log in to the network. If it doesn't, you can browse "My network places") locate the printer on the desktop machine and click it. Windows should will ask you if you want to connect and install the drivers automatically.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I am using XP. Thanks for your advice. I use my laptop for work and I am connected via a VPN onto the Network, how can I see my PC upstairs? All I see are the Devices on the company's network. Do I need to do anything on the PC upstairs so that I can see this and then the Printer?
