Connect My Router?

I am unable to connect my TV & PC as they used to be ? I have the same PC the same Router but a new TV, but the two won't link?
Can I remove any passwords ,etc. & start from scratch?
I'm not 'au fait' with technology!
LG tv & TP_Link_D33C Router?
Any help,please.

When you say the TV won't connect to the router what exactly do you mean? Is the router not accepting the password that you're putting into the TV? Can the TV not "see" your router in its list of things to connect to?

bhg481//Yes! The tv can see the router but the passwords I try to input are rejected.
Which is why I asked if passwords ,etc. could be removed from my router & then new ones put in?

Did you do the original setup with the old TV?

Also, bear in mind that the password you're putting into the TV won't (necessarily) be the ADMIN password on the bottom of the router...

Also bear in mind that the password will be case-sensitive. Your TV will cope with that but it can be a bit fiddly.

It is usually possible to change the wi-fi password on your router but I think you can only do it if you connect your computer to it using a cable - have a look in the router instructions.

BHG481 is propably hitting the nail on the head. The passwords are case sensitive, and can be a nightmare to tell the difference between lowercase l and 1, and many more examples. You can change password on router, but you need to connect it to a computer or access it via a mobile phone, and its a bit bewildering for the layman.. If you do need to change password, I can give you the info, but you will need the details from the bottom of the router, its usually ADMIN and PASSWORD, unless someone has already changed router settings.

I've managed to 'free' my router and looked underneath-both are (lower-case) 'admin' .....
I seem to remember 2 separate pieces of data: wifi = 10 numerical digits. router = my name (all lower-case). but I don't seem to be able to get past the first entry of data,before it tells me the data is wrong & to retry!

What's the exact model number of your TV (from the back of the set), please? [The reason that I'm asking is that there might be a WPS connection method available for it, which would bypass the pasword anyway].

If you look on YouTube and search for "Router password" you can find your wi-fi password using your PC which, you say, can connect to the router.

Type 192.168.0.1 into your browser's address bar and hit 'Enter'. That should take you to a web page that enables you to access your router's settings. You'll be required to enter your username and password. If the firm that supplied your router didn't change them, they'll both be 'admin' (all lower case). If you've been supplied with an alternative username and/or password, use those credential instead.

Once you've got into your router's settings, look for a 'Security' area (or similar), which should enable you to see what password is set for the router.

May be worth watching Grandpappy if what you are trying to do is set the TV to a home network. Easier than trying to type it all up.

I did read ALL kind replies(that included YOURS JimF)and I'm trying to make sense of most of them,so detailed,I'm going to have to get the old Balvenie out again. Could be a late night!!
Give me time to try all of the replies and I will return,I hope!

I was right-it was a late night,but the Balvenie helped. I think!
I'm still not sure what I did or which buttons I clicked,or indeed who's advice I was following (it really was a late night) but I suppose,as Ernie once said "I'm playing all the right notes but in the wrong order".
I now have connection, via my PC ,with my telly-enabling me to 'cast' stuff? and my TV informs me that I am connected to (T'interweb).
So,to everyone who kindly offered their assistance-"Thank you very much" and I'm pleased I didn't have to drag that second bottle of Balvenie out of the shed. Cheers all.
