can i transfer tracks recorded from vinyl to my minidisc player onto my pc

yes, there are a number of ways, and you need a few things.

1st, check your computers soundcard to see if it has a digital or optical IN (PC's with onboard sound rarely have this) you may find you are stuck with a standard onboard soundcard, or cheap PCI one.. in that case you will then need a 3.5mm jack plug (for the line in) connected via screened cable to whatever the line out socket on your minidisc player is (usually another 3.5mm socket)

Your choice of software for the next stage is up to you, but I use Soundforge.

its a fairly simple step to set up sound forge to record mode, and then you simply hit record on soundforge at the same time as "play" on your minidisc.

a few test recordings to sort out levels etc, and you are sorted :-)
