Tv Comes Back On After Switch-Off
13 Answers
Can anyone suggest why, a couple of minutes after I switch off my Samsung TV using the remote, it comes back on again. This sometimes happens two or three times in a row, and it's very frustrating. I don't want to switch it off at the socket because I record programmes most nights. Any suggestions please?

aelmpvw I see what you mean now, sorry for being dense. Switching off at the button below the screen has the same effect as switching off with the remote - the TV comes on again.

A few tips here, some already mentioned of course.

Are you recording to a usb device?
I've seen our Samsung switch on immediatly after I've turned it off (to standby mode) with the remote.
I've also seen it switch on from standby if the Sky box changes channels to record - its getting a signal from the sky box via hdmi.
If I have recordings set on the sky box I make sure that the sky box is put into standby - that way the sky box records the channel without triggering the tv.
