Can Any One Pls Clarify The Differences Between Captioning And Subtitling?

I assumed that captioning the same as subtitling, but many sources showed that captioning is specifically intended for people who are deaf or hard of hearing...

I believe sub titles are just dialogue - captioning details music, and other events also.

Oh, that explains. Those people need to see more details rather than just dialogues. Thanks Crapatcryptics
being deaf - - I wdnt say the difference is intended for me but is more general

But no offense Pi, I just read the explanation from WIKI -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subtitles#Closed_captions, mainly talking about video captioning/subtitling.

So, captioning is to provide more non-speech elements for better visual understanding.
