Why would my avatar appear on a question I post, but not if I'm answering someone elses post? Ive recently returned & thought Id sorted it.

Maybe they’re all furloughed at Gravatar at the moment. There’s no rational reason.

fiction, I hadnt noticed it wasnt there on this post. Yet it is on my 'She tried ' post?

I don’t think Gravatar works now, I believe it’s Wordpress ?

If a spammer joins this site, using an email address that they've already got registered with Gravatar, their avatar immediately appears in their profile but not alongside their posts. i.e. although they've not satisfied the '14 day rule' for getting an avatar here, AB's server knows that the avatar exists but it's 'turned off' alongside their posts.

You now seem to be in the same position as such a spammer would be, where AB's server knows that you've got an avatar but thinks that it's 'turned off' for some reason. The problem might 'at your end' or it could be one that only AB's techies can deal with.

Let's check it out at your end of things first anyway:
Click on 'View your profile'. Look at the three grey boxes near to the top of the page. The left-hand one should be showing 'Deactivate Avatar'. If it's not, then click on it to turn your avatar back on.

If everything is normal on your profile page, email the Ed to get the techies to turn your avatar on at Gnome Towers: [email protected]
