dia up via cable telephone

I am looking at upgrading my current broadband via ASDL to a cable package with Telewest that includes broadband.

However I first need to confirm that I will still be able to use their phone line for dial up connection as I need to use this for work )security system does not permit broadband).

I think Telewest will supply you with an analogue telephone line which you will be able to use as a dial up for work as well as a cable connection for your broadband.

Yes - as per the previous answer, if you go for the Broadband service with Telewest and get a telephone line it is just a basic analogue line.

You can use it just like any other normal telephone line as it's totally seperate from the broadband service.

Just a slight addendum - I think some telephone providers will only allow you to access certain ISPs through their lines. e.g. when we had dial up and BT we had to go with Virgin as opposed with whoever it was we actually wanted (can't remember). May have all changed by now though.
