Whatsapp Notifications On...

My notifications are on, but I don’t always get a sound notification when I get a message from WhatsApp. Also I don’t get the little red number circle any more to tell me how many messages I have ..... thanks all . I have a Samsung phone by the way.

Go into settings on Whatsapp. Select notifications and check all buttons are enabled.

Yes they are on.... ... conversation tones, and .... use high priority notifications at top of screen, show previews of notifications at top of screen.

I get a bigger number than is there waiting to be read. It used to be +1 but of late I've begun to see +2.

My Samsung also does that occasionally. Try, settings- notifications and click on the three dots on the top right corner then click on Reset notification settings. Works for me. The sound comes back.

O_G I am the same, as when I get a text it registers as 2 and not 1.

I think one of the 2 is whatsapp saying it is checking for messages ( or words to that effect). I get that message a moment before the actual message I am receiving. Then 2 messages show but there is only one message.

Gettingonabit, did that, but still don’t always get notifications etc.... thanks anyway

Bought the wife a new phone for Xmas.. Transferred everything over with no problem.
This morning she wanted to know why she didn't get a noise to let her know when she received a WhatsApp message..
I told her to go into her phone settings (not her WhatsApp settings.)
Find.. sound and vibrations..
Click on Notifications and just select the sound you want and OK it.
It has been working non stop since then.. !!!

Alavahalf, all my Notification Sounds are on, still don’t get notification sounds every time, and I don’t get any number in the WhatsApp logo, even if I have three or four messages ....

Those getting "extra" notifications... you are just not finding them. Check for calls and everything else, as those disappear, once you have found them.

Smurf, have you checked for WhatsApp notifications on your actual phone? Not just on the app?
