I've sent a short video from my desktop to my brothers ipad, its down loaded to the ipad ok, but won't play when he clicks onto it??

There are several formats for video; is it in the right format for his Ipad?

Sorry, I can't answer that as I don't have an Ipad and know nothing about them. There is plenty of software around for use on your desktop which will convert the format; VLC media player is a recommended one which is free to download.
