My 2008 Macbook Pro is so old it has a value of nil.

Are there any charities who take such ancient machines for the Third World?

Maybe you could donate to a school, they are after laptops and such like for kids ( that don't have such devices ) to take part in lessons from home.
Do you mean 'developing nations'?
If England is a developing nation then yes.
???
2008 ones are no good as I understand it. They won't update so won't use even partway new apps. When they are asked for I have seen the caveat of no older than 5 years, also I think they want windows gear for schools because that's mostly what schools are used to. I too have got an old mac so I looked into it.
Thanks woofgang, I didn't know that. I have been hearing announcements by various DJ's on my local radio station asking people to donate unused / surplus laptops etc to help out with the schools.
I wouldn't assume it has nil value. I don't know anything about Macs but I just googled 2008 macbook Pro and there's a load on ebay for £150+.

Chancers all, as they won’t get past High Sierra and won’t even run some basic programs aNy more!

Try Music Magpie they refurbish and resell. Might even have a scheme for schools
