Winfax pro answer

Sine I've had broad band, my Winfax won't work. I've set it up so it dials through the pulse dial modem in my computer but every time I try to send a fax it comes back with "not able to negotiate or train". Also, is it able to set Winfax so it distinguishes between a fax and a phone call. If I set it to answer immediately, my callers get a fax tone - if I set it to answer aftyer 8 rings, my BT1571 answerfone cuts in. HELP!!!!!
