Saving A Pdf To Pc
3 Answers
I use the microsoft edge browser and up until just recently have had no trouble saving pdf's to my PC. Now the save option is no longer available and I can only print it, but if I open the document in chrome I can still save it.
It would seem that something has been altered in one of the annoying updates that microsoft make you do and I want to go back to being able to save pdf's in edge. I'm sure it's just something that needs clicking in edge but can't find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Then click Downloads and move the slider to enable 'Ask me what to with each download'.
Then, rather than seeing a dialogue box open (with the options to 'Save' or 'Open'), as in the old days, you'll be prompted to make your choice at the bottom left of your screen. Selecting 'Save As' enables to to choose where the file ends up.
For a more intuitive way of doing things though, switch to Slimjet. Like both Edge and Chrome, it's based upon the developer-level Chromium browser but it's faster and generally better:

Thanks got that sorted now, can't think why anybody thought it was an improvement to just save them and not give the option of where too.
Thanks for the slimjet link too, I can now read the papers in peace. I didn't want to install an ad blocker in my main browser as they can interfere too much, but that does the trick.
