I am reading a crime novel where the police inspector has 'researched' a suspect by looking at his social media accounts. The suspect has contacted her claiming to have monitoring software that alerts him of anyone who has searched for his name in Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn etc.
I know it is fiction but does such software exist?
I work in the tech industry and I use social media to profile people and businesses. Apart from the standard LinkedIn functionality(as mentioned above) that tells you who's visited your profile there isn't anything else...there's no Big Brother, aggregated view across the web.
