Samsung Galaxy A40 Update Problem

Since updating yesterday, my Samsung Home Screen has lost my photo and is a black screen. I can alter my photo on the Lock Screen, and when I try to put a photo on the Home Screen it looks like it has been done, but when I turn off and on again, my Home Screen is just black again with the keypad showing. Help please... l am not technical. Also I have updated my iPad mini as per my previous question, and I am still getting the problem of the screen sticking, l can’t switch it off, or do anything, help please!!
