My sister has just given me her Nokia 6230. She is on T-mobile and I am on vodafone. It is asking for a restriction code which T-Mobile are saying will cost �15 and 28 days to obtain.

Anyone know where I can obtain this code, quicker and possibly for free??

Round here you can get a phone 'unlocked' for about 10quid and it takes about 2 minutes.

Try market stalls that sell mobiles or the smaller, independant phone shops.

Have you seen http://unlock.nokiafree.org/ for unlock codes? Worth a go if you've got the IMEI number.

I tried www.unlocks.co.uk - cost �4.50 - worked a treat!

You can unlock the mobile according to the network you reside ..
