Sonic Update Manager

Sonic Update Manager is giving me a hard time! I do not know i got this into my system but it keeps on popping up when i start my computer and it very annoying when i try to shut down as it seems to pop up again on the screen. I tried to locate it on list of programmes but it is nowhere to be seen. Instead of being a helpful feature it has become a complete nuisance. Is there any easy way i can get rid of Sonic Update Manager? Thanks

As Sonic Update Manager is a feature of Sonic RecordNow, which will have been installed on your computer to enable you to use its CD/DVD writer, that link suggests that it might be best not to remove Sonic RecordNow, as you'd lose the ability to write discs. If I had the problem though, I'd simply get rid of Sonic RecordNow and replace it with this
