i have a bush combined video and dvd player/recorder when i try to record on dvd a message comes up -no disc- it records fine on video and plays dvds ok .the dvd is philips dvd-r i am doing something wrong ,anyone know what?

Have you checked what kind of DVDs the Bush can record on? Most of the 'cheaper' recorders acn only record on DVD +R or DVD +RW. Also try another make of DVD. I got a bad batch once, none of them would record. Have you tried the DVD on a computer DVD writer?

Any chance it may need a clean? If the laser is dirty it will not be able to detect the disc. You can buy a cleaning disc at most computer shops or indeed ebay.
