jvc vid/dvd recorder

i have recently bought one of these the cooling fan keeps running continuously having got in touch with jvc about this they recommend some action i could take but this made no difference whatsoever the model in question is dr-mv5sek if anybody has one these machines do they have any suggestions on how to stop the cooling fan running continuously would be much obliged pse dont tell me to dump it because other than this annoyance it is a super machine

I know its not a direct answer to your question but I have a JVC DR-MX1 which is a combo also and well even in stand by mode the fan is always running. I don't think its a serious problem but you do wonder why JVC couldn't have figured a way of going around this. I guess you have it in your room or something and is keeping you up lol.
