The quickest way to make contact with BT is to get them to run a line check.

Use a mobile phone to send to a text to 61998, entering 'PHONE', followed by your landline number, as your message. BT will then run a test to see if they can remotely detect a problem with your landline. If they do, they'll text you back within 15 minutes to book a slot for an engineer to call. If they don't, they'll call you back on your mobile within 30 minutes to discuss your problem.
