If you have xp go to 'help and support' and restore your computer to an earlier point in time ( before you started deleting programs ). You can't just delete programs, you need to use an uninstaller.

ok ive just tried that the laptop is just restarting, does that apply if you "unistall something"?thankyouxx

Hi

All is not lost. If you have Windows X/P you will have system restore. Choose the day before you deleted the file and use system restore to make good your error. Go to start, Help and support and choose system restore.

If you know nothing about computers it is rather silly to delete programs that you are not sure what they do.

If a program is INSTALLED on your computer, but not actually RUNNING, then it will not make your laptop go any slower.

Very few programs autostart, unless they are needed for the hardware, so the only programs that will be running are those that you start.

The easiest way to make your laptop go faster is to add more memory.

If you defragment your hard disk you may notice a slight performance boost but not a lot.

Consider turning off the fancy things Windows does that slow your computer down, like drop shadows on icons etc.

You can find these by selecting Start, then Settings, the Control Panel.

In Control Panel select System, Advanced tab, then the Settings button under Performance.

On the Visual Effects tab select "Adjust for best performance". This will turn off all the ticks below.

That will give you a slight performance boost.
