I have bought a Motorola mobile at Tesco and have gone to charge it but it is only a small plug and my normal sockets are too big .Any suggestions ,other than ask at Tesco tomorrow .

The large pin will raise up.
As JimF suggests, it's likely that the charger unit has a travel plug, where the big earth pin can be moved downwards to make it easier to fit into a bag. Simply pulling that pin upwards is likely to solve your problem.

Thanks but I can’t move it I will take it back and Tesco staff can move it.Chap was very helpful that sold it .
You probably don't need the charger unit anyway. The cable that plugs into it (with your phone on the other end of it) can be plugged into any USB socket, such as one that you've got an old charger.
The top prong can definately be pushed higher so it fits. Mine was the same until i realised
But agree with Buenchico too. Or you can plug into your laptop
put your thumb under the top pin and push it up and it will then turn into a normal size plug.

Thanks I tried again and it worked . Would never have thought of that
I had the same problem, just purely because I didn't know.
and I also need answers to be very specific.
