On TV progs and adverts you regularly see bubble text going back and forth between the participants on a screen with the accompanying notification noise - I want to know what that device is that uses that noise !! Going to be hard to explain a sound, OH said it's not on his iPhone and I don't have it on Hauwei either.
One poster goes oo-oo with the second oo up a tone or so
The reply is also oo-oo but the second tone is down a tone or so
There is one ad using it at the moment but it features a lot particularly in US films showing messages between teenagers.

Is it the one used on Black Mirror? One sound is sending and one is receiving... but not sure which phone, sorry.

Sorry Pixie, never watched Black Mirror and your 2nd post is a mystery?
Dave, husband went through all his iPhone 6+ text notification choices and it wasn't there. I have also just been through my work iPhone options as well. Lots of choice of sounds but not this particular one.
It's coming up in a current TV advert, I'll try to take note what it's for so I can post it.
I googled which phones they used, which made those sounds, but Dave's looks more likely!
I get different noises if the app is open and when it's closed. Try sending him a text while he has text messages open

Thanks so far although I'm none the wiser. My daughter suggests it's a tone available on Apple Messenger (their version of whatsapp) but neither of us have it installed....
