Dropbox Query

am the administrator (owner) of a dropbox file sharing facility. I wish to add three new members to be able to use the facility to share files, but I cannot work out how to do it. In the past there was an icon and I just added their email addresses and the invitation got sent to them with details of how to install dropbox. They have now changed the system and I cannot work out what to do. I am not very computer literate, and so could someone please explain as if they are talking to a dummy.
So far I can get to share.... specific people, create a new user - but then what?
Many thanks

If in LIST VIEW select the file or folder you want to share and tick the box to the left of it. Then look to the right of the name and look for the box with an upwards arrow or the 3 dots. Both of these give the option to SHARE WITH DROPBOX.
If in GRID VIEW tick the box of the file/folder and then click on the 3 dots.
(Ticking the box is optional - but its a good idea to do so as it means you have definately selected the item to share)
You will then have the option to add an email address and select whether they can view or edit.

Thanks for trying to help Tuvok, but I regret that I do not understand. I am not familiar with dropbox!
I have a directory Dropbox > XYZ >
(XYZ is an alias for the name of the association)
The directory contains 7 sub-directories and ten files. I want to give 3 people access to everything
If I hover over XYZ and right click and click on "share" a pop up appears listing the 8 existing people that have access to these files, but there does not appear to be anything to add someone else. The cog in the top right of the pop-up doesn't - I've checked that!
I can copy the link and email that to them. They can then access the files, but if my understanding is correct they cannot edit them. Also this format is not user friendly.
I would rather that they have a dropbox icon on their computers and have the whole directory, but I can't find out how to invite them.
I obviously have a different version to you, as in the view where the files are listed, there is no box to the left for me to tick. In grid view, I cannot see three dots.
Thankyou though

Corbyloon - unfortunately, no it doesn't. I have no problems removing existing people or changing their status, I just can't find out how to add new people that are not already listed.
Like I say, I can email them a link - but that version is not user friendly, I also believe that because they are not "invited", as such and have just received a link, although they can read the files, they cannot edit them, unless they copy the file to their own directory, save the changes and email me the file back to change in dropbox - and this is a palaver!
Thankyou though

For them to have a icon on their computer they will need to install the desktop app.
Have you tried what I suggested - you need to login to Dropbox on the website to do that.

There probably is a way to do it from the desktop ap, but can't say from now (would have to look at my home computer)
