I cloned C drive and copied it to an external hard drive. Instructions say I should check the external drive is OK by booting from there, How do i access the bios? I've tried holding down the Delete key, F1 and F2 keys but no joy. Thank you in advance

what's the make and model of the PC? does it have a BIOS or UEFI?
Question Author
it's a HPackard about 4 years old running Windows 10. I don't know how to check if it has bios or uefi
BIOS on an HP is usually f10.

If it has UEFI, then switch on and repeatedly prod the ESCAPE key every second or so.

Hi guys. I found a tutorial and managed to access the uefi/bios and this options list came up: uefi boot sources...os boot manager.... windows boot manager....usb hard drive...usb floppy/cd...atapi cd/dvd and finally Network controller. What i want to do is test the external drive will boot up windows. What worries me is that something happens and the computer doesn't move on to the next boot option. Another thing;should I select USB hard drive to test that the computer will boot from the external hard drive?
