Problem With My Tv

A sign has come up in the middle of the screen that says 'The terrestrial antenna is short-circuited'. Any idea why this is please and if there is something I can do about it?

Are you watching through a humax box?

Check your TV aerial. This includes making sure the cable is not damaged or the coaxial plug(the bit that plugs into TV of digi box)is not loose and shorting the braid to the centre core.

I will go and check the Ariel lead hasn't come loose and if that doesn't work, I'll turn it off for a while.

Humax

Turn off at the rear black switch its located on the back L/H side as you look at the humax from the front. double check the aerial plug on the cable itself, sometimes a stray bit of braid can cause a short with the inner cable. reconnect scarts and cable and power on again. https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/476740/humax-antenna-cable-is-short-circuited#:~:text=Turn%20off%20at%20the%20rear%20black%20switch%20its,reconnect%20scarts%20and%20cable%20and%20power%20on%20again.

Go into the menu settings for the Humax box and look for 'Aerial power'. I've got a suspicion that you'll find that it's 'On'. If so, set it to 'Off'.
