Sony Xperia Xa1 - Problem With Pin Lock!

On my old Z3 compact I set up a 4 digit pin lock but this does not work on my XA1.

I tried to set it up but because I have my screen set to go off every 30 seconds to save battery and because this model does not have the double tap screen to open it but instead I have to press the on/off button do do this - every time I press the on/off button to reopen the screen it prompts me to sign in with the pin!

Many people have said that Sony should have kept the double tap and I liked this on previous Sonys - so I have had to do without a Lock Pin now. Any suggestions any one please?

Thanks

The XA1 supports Google's Smart Lock function. You can use that keep your phone unlocked in specific locations (e.g. at home or work) and/or when you're carrying it on your body:

All sorted with Pin Lock but may I ask one other question please?
Over last few days I have occasionally not received emails/texts to my phone switched it back to although the emails arrive on my laptop. When I checked my settings I noticed that the wi fi blue button had gone to 'off' and when I switched it back on they all appeared!

This has never happened before

Thanks
