Remember tomorrow Thursday March 31 2022 is national meter reading day .

Send to your supplier so they don't charge units used at the old lower rates before the 1st April at the new rates after the 1st April

many thx bazeel
Tried to do this many times today and guess what, log in doesn't work and phone number always engaged. May have to take photos of both meters just in case.
Have tried to submit mine. Site has crashed. Then BG issued a submit readings form near midnight last night.other than on their site. It Was asking for customer number. Didn’t have it to hand. Left it till this morning. Now that’s disappeared
maybe people shoulda got smart meters?
I've got a smart meter.

BG don't use it, but make me send a reading every month.
It’s already cost me a bloody fortune. I took my glasses off yesterday evening to read the gas meter, put them on the floor, and then trod on the bloody things.

Vision Express tomorrow.

What a prat.
Just submitted mine to EDF and had a message back to say that my Direct Debit remains the same.
Are you on a Fixed Rate Tills?
Yes, LB.
So am I but my neighbour who is more clued up than me nowadays says if you have a Fixed Rate there's no point doing it. So I haven't. Is he wrong?
Submitted mine on the phone yesterday, Thurs, about 4 pm. Both gas and electric. No problems, but am thinking about switching supplier.
I have no idea, LB. I just went with the current flow!
It can't hurt to do it, especially if your last readings were estimates, as mine were.
No, no harm done of course but you and I are quite fortunate. I'll have to check when my Fix ends, don't think it's till July. Whoopie!
Managed to do ours in the end yesterday by phone. First time they have ever sent us an e mail with this written on though (Thanks for sending us your meter readings. We'll run a couple of checks on them to make sure they're in line with what we'd expect and email you an up to date statement in the next 48 hours.). Dont they trust anyone to send in correct readings these days. E mail this morning to say they have accepted them.

Well some might massively inflate the reading to pay more at the current (lower) rate and less at the new rate.
I have just checked my bank statement and my direct debit has increased by £25.00.

I really don't understand this.
Tried to do this last night but British Gas website was "experiencing problems". Could have phoned, but needed my gas and electricity account numbers. I couldn't access my account so it was a pointless exercise.
“ maybe people shoulda got smart meters?”

Quite :-)
Tilly, I expect you have use more gas/electricity than was expected when you took out your contract. Use more and the bill goes up and so does your DD.
If you are in credit, though, contact them and ask them to reduce the DD
E.ON Next website says people have until 09 April to submit their 31 March readings.
