What's the make and exact model of your monitor, please? (The info will almost certainly be on the back of it).

As I read your question, the whole of your desktop screen has moved to the right, leaving a blank strip down the left hand side. If that's the case, then it will be your monitor that needs adjusting but I can't tell you which buttons to press on your monitor unless I can find the manual for it online. For that I need to know the model number, from the rear of the unit, such as KA222Q.

However your secondary post seems to suggest that there's nothing at all wrong with your desktop, per se, and that it's only a window that needs to be resized to fit the screen. In that case, all you should need to do is to press the Windows key (at the bottom left of your keyboard, in between Ctrl and Alt) and ↑ together

So which is it?

The strip at the left side is showing my icons

sorry what do I press with windows ?
the shift key? (The one with the arrow pointing upwards, for capital letters)
Question Author
Ive pressed the window and shift together and no change
Question Author
Ive put model number above Chris
Press the Windows key and the 'Up' arrow together.
Question Author
I've done that but no change
it's the up arrow below the shift key on the right
Assuming that you're pressing the right keys (see Aelmpvw's post), if nothing is happening it suggests that the window might not be 'focussed'. Click inside it first, then press the Windows key and 'Up' arrow key together.
Sounds like you need to drag the ottom bar back to the bottom

Look what I found I thought this had happened before, Thanks to Danny, that has worked, hooray !!!
