from Microsoft help, when you get to the device manager pick the �network Adaptors� bit and click on the power management, then it should let you uncheck a bit that says �allow windows to turn this device off to save power� or something similar (I�m at work this is from memory!!)
Its helped me before.
I�ve been having trouble with my DSL line dropping, forcing me to manually connect it every now and then. A BT engineer came out and said it was something to do with the local phone server/hub (what ever!) and would be solved in �the near future� nothing I could do!!
