It is at least 40 years since we bought it and it is working O K but should we get a new one. I assume a new one would be more efficient and less power.. Chris

A new one will be a lot more energy efficient but you have to weight that against the cost of a new one.
If you do decide to buy one ensure it is A rated for energy efficiency
Is it to go in a garage?
40 years ? Way past its best .
Be aware that energy ratings have recently changed - if it is A+ (or more than one +) it is the old energy rating and is equivalent to an E in the new system. It will be easier in long term but is confusing for the buyer just now.

not read the link but I think A++ became C under the new ratings - leaving A & B free for future improvement (I could be wrong!).
the one in the Amazon link is F rated so there may be more efficient ones available.
Such a throw-away society we live in :-(
