Outlook 2003 Send And Receive Problem
This is on a new computer, when I loaded Outlook 2003 and set up the email it worked fine, the problem arose after I exported my email folders from my old computer to a memory stick (as pst files) and imported them to my new computer.
I would be delighted if someone on AB is able to solve the problem for me.

However I'm surprised that you've apparently set up the account using the POP3 settings for it. Most people would opt for using IMAP these days (especially if the account is to be accessed from other devices, such as a mobile phone).
1. Check that you are connected to the internet: Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet, and that your network connection is running correctly.
2. Check your email settings: Check that your settings are correct for your email account, including the incoming and outgoing server, username and password.
3. Check your firewall settings: Make sure that your firewall is not blocking Outlook from sending and receiving emails.
4. Check your antivirus settings: Make sure that your antivirus software is not blocking Outlook from sending and receiving emails.
5. Check for updates: Make sure that you are running the latest version of Outlook, and that all of the necessary updates have been installed.
6. Repair Outlook: If none of the above steps have solved the issue, try repairing Outlook. To do this, open Outlook and go to the ‘Help’ menu. Select ‘Detect and Repair’. This will scan Outlook for any problems and attempt to fix them. However, you can try out the Regain Outlook PST recovery software. https:/
It seems like the issue you are experiencing is related to the server name for your POP3 email account. Here's a step-by-step solution to resolve this problem:
Check Server Settings:
Open Outlook.
Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings."
Select your email account and click "Change."
Verify that the incoming and outgoing server settings are correct. Contact your email provider if you're not sure about the settings.
Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Sometimes, antivirus or firewall settings can block Outlook from connecting to the server. Temporarily disable them and see if the issue is resolved.
Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is working properly. Try accessing other websites to verify.
Repair Outlook PST File: Since you recently imported PST files from your old computer, it's possible that the PST file is corrupted. You can use the Advik PST Repair Tool to repair the PST file:
Download and install the Advik PST File Repair Tool.
Launch the tool and select the corrupted PST file.
Click on the "Repair" button to start the repair process.
Once the repair process is complete, try sending and receiving emails again.
Recreate Email Account: If none of the above steps work, you may need to recreate your email account in Outlook:
Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings."
Select your email account and click "Remove."
Click "New" to add a new email account and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, it may be helpful to contact your email provider for further assistance.
