We have recently changed to pay as you go for our electricity. After some considerable trouble getting it swapped over we are all set. We have downloaded the app so when we eventually swapped over this week we decided to top the balance up which went through OK. However since then the balance has stayed the same We thought that the balance would change as we used the electricity. Are we wrong?

Im a bit confused. When you say pay as you go do you mean you get a bill then you pay it, or that you have a prepayment meter? Or something else?
I'd say it means prepayment.
Has to mean pre-payment if they’re expecting to see the amount they’ve put in go down.
What is the billing period. Are you sure pay as you go means the amount used is deducted as it is used and not monthly for example
every day I believe.....
Prepayment is deducted daily...throughout the day. Or is on traditional, non smart meter units. Though I'd imagine in would be the same with a smart meter.
If you have £10 at 9am...it will have reduced by whatever has been used by late night.
I'm with Utilita and I can see my pre-paid smart meter going down if not in real time then updates are about half hourly intervals.

So you should be able to what you've used etc, and how much is still available to you.
Is the remaining credit showing on the physical meter and has that gone down?
