How do you get a digital TV to recognise your DVD recorder? Unlike an analogue TV, I can't seem to 'tune' a channel to it, like AV1 for example. Even when connected, and the TV 're'-autotuned, it won't find it...
Any ideas?

commoner you are quite right.
you can only record the channel you are watching.
eg. the channel you have on your freeview box.
My husband and I have recently bought a DVD recorder and we have a Video recorder.
I have set the DVD so that I can record from the freeview or the T.V whichever I choose and then we can watch the T.V and record another channel on freeview.
I have set also the video recorder up so that we can record one programme from the freeview and one from the normal T.V and also watch another channel on the T.V.
so you can watch 3 things at the same time.
I have recently done this to my parents new 37 inch lcd tv and new DVD recorder etc with freeview box.
If you don't know what you are doing, like my parents you would be baffled.
Fortunately I am very good with technology.
But you are quite right commoner in what you have said.
clare louise.
