Further to my previous question. My phone is at the end of contract, when I go to Tesco get a new phone and a new contract, do I just download the WhatsApp app, and will all my messages be there? I will have the same phone number. Thanks all x

I think you download the app & Whatsapp will send a confirmation text to the new phone. But I'm unsure if all your contacts & messages will be therem

If you use Google Drive: Open WhatsApp (on your old phone) > open settings (3 dots in the top right-hand corner) > Settings > Chats. Click on Chat backup and back up to Google Drive. Once you get your new phone, just download WhatsApp and it will ask you if you want to restore your old messages/chats.

That is how to backup and restore your WhatsApp messages only.

And if you have an iPhone just open WhatsApp, click on Settings bottom right, chose Chats and the Back Up Chats. It’ll be saved in iCloud and there to access on your next phone.
