Have a look under Control Panel,/system/hardware/device manager and check the item for USB - there should be an option there to update driver, whether you have the original CD to install or even if they're on your disc already - alternatively you can try and install a new driver by allowing Windows to search the web for one.)Ive never tried this option myself, the original installation disc usually does the trick)

thanks dude, theres actually no option to search the web though an i dont have the cd as my computer is about 6 computers in one now! normally im ok installing these but havent a clue what this on even is
Have you tried going onto the Control panel> system >hardward profiles and deleting the items relating to the USB options - when you reboot the computer you should (hopefully) get a found new hardware option and windows would install some generic drivers ? or even try going into the add hardware wizard (if theres one there) and try it that way, there should be some drivers in th eoperating system I would have thought ?good luck
