Powerpoint Image Insert

I am trying to insert a slide into a PP presentation.

I have always clicked on the image, brought up the blank slide, pressed Ctl and V, and the image inserts correctly.

Now, it pasts a border, but no image.

I have tried closing down and re-opening, and putting the slide into a new presentation, no joy.

I suspect I have inadvertently changed a setting, but i don't know which one - any advice please?

Sorted - it was the image that was the problem - tried another, no issue.

I am not suited to technology!!!!!!!
