Powercut

My sister had a power cut last night & hadn't turned her computer off. This morning she cannot get it to start? Is there a quick easy fix for this please?

Won't it start at all, or not just boot up?

Has it gone into a deep sleep? Occasionally I have to hold down the power button for about 20 seconds. Or just try control alt delete

Does any lights come on? Can she hear any noises?

Windows emblem comes on them blank black screen.

Pull the plug out from wall. Leave for 30 mins. Check all cables are tight.

Maybe boot off of a bootable CD/DVD/flash drive, then check the hard drive for errors/corruption ?

It may sound odd but my mate was told to press escape key about 30 times in 30 seconds....and it worked

Can't answer the question...but thanks for using "power cut" and not "power outage"!
