I have just bought one of these for my friend from Ebay. The thing is, I have no idea what it does. He wans something which he can use as a dictaphone, and maybe record him singing with a guitar, and then put that onto the PC. Will this do the trick??!

If not, what will?

I have one. If you put it into record mode (you press the mode button on the top and then scroll right) you can then record, well, anything. Connect it to a computer and you can drag/drop the recordings onto the pc.

However as these things were �9.97 in Tesco, the quality of the recording isn't great. If he's intending to impress someone with his recording, he needs to look at some other solution.

As a cheap mp3 player/usb key drive it's fine, though.
