Why does my DVD-HD record on HD when it's set for DVD?

I thought the idea of them was to record anything you want recorded onto HD first, and then if you wish to keep it, put onto DVD then.

I doubt it can burn a TV programme straight to DVD. At least, I didn't think they did.

fo3nix, yes they can. At least my LG HD-DVD recorder can. The menu allows you to choose either DVD or HD for recording. c00ky83, I suggest that you check your manual. Most people probably DO record to Hard Disc first (I do) and then archive to DVD later. If recording to DVD directly, it is probably worth recording to DVD/RW (even from the HD) and then copying to DVD/R on the computer.
